Desde el cruce con el camino de la Buitrera, dejamos el GR 333 y remontamos un corto tramo de pista hasta el inicio de la senda al castillo. A partir de este punto y entre pinares, el itinerario supera un ascenso intenso hasta alcanzar el alto del Castillo donde podemos visitar los restos del castillo y las trincheras existentes.
