Following the inspection carried out by trail technicians, this trail has been declared of "limited adequacy" as a result of the faults detected in the signage. These include inadequate horizontal signs (paint markers) and/or vertical ones (trailheads and information boards) or lacking direction markers that do not provide sufficient information to properly follow the route. The builder of this trail has been informed of the situation.
For safety reasons and during maintenance work, it is advised to be extremely careful while taking this route. Furthermore, mountain sports entail risks associated with the activity itself and the environment where they take place, for which any person is fully liable. For this reason, hikes need to be planned properly and adequate training, equipment and sensible use of the trails are required.

The route runs through some of the most beautiful mountain landscapes in the municipality. Upon reaching the highest point of the trail, a spectacular panorama opens up: the Turia River basin, right at the transition point between the Serranos region and the Calderona mountain range.

Route description (only available in Spanish)

Desde el albergue de la Cárcama nos dirigimos en dirección sudsudeste en busca de cuesta del Yesar, atravesamos el barranco del Cuchillo y pasamos junto a la casiquia de las Boiras que dejamos a nuestra izquierda para seguir hasta el punto de inicio de la parte circular del sendero. Tomamos el camino de la izquierda donde, poco después, encontramos la derivación a las vías de escalada del barranco del Cuchillo. El sendero sigue y nos lleva a la cañadiquia del Chon y el corral del Cuchillo.

Después del corral pasaremos por la casiquia de Mallén y la del Peño. Seguimos el camino para llegar a las casetas forestales desde donde podemos contemplar las vistas de la sierra Calderona y de la comarca de los Serranos. Continuamos en dirección a la casiquia de Cortés y de nuevo al punto donde se cierra la parte circular del sendero. Desde este punto sólo nos queda volver por el mismo camino de ida hasta el albergue de la Cárcama.
